Dr. Matsick's Teaching
Dr. Matsick teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Psychology and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS). Her syllabi include diverse, interdisciplinary, and intersectional perspectives on psychological and feminist concepts and theories. Dr. Matsick’s teaching centers on the themes of gender, sexuality, and health. In 2022, Dr. Matsick was honored to receive the Outstanding Teaching Award for Tenure-Line Faculty in the College of Liberal Arts at Penn State.

Throughout the semester, students in her class are encouraged to identify gaps in knowledge and research, develop thoughtful and scholarly questions, and exemplify course concepts through real-world observations. Importantly, students in her courses learn to value science and scholarship as tools for creating positive social change.
